Nakuru Governor, Lee Kinyanjui, began his first day in office, by sending the County Secretary, Joseph Motari, and six other senior county officers, on compulsory leave. Several other governors have taken similar steps, in the name of dealing with corruption and bringing down county wage bills. The terminations of employment of county staff however, have been strongly condemned by the various quarters, the most recent being the Office of the Ombudsman.
