Description
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai also known as Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is the civic body that governs Mumbai, and is presently under scanner of media, locals and opposition after the rains created havoc in the city. The things got serious with collapsing of buildings. BMC has marked around 16,000 old buildings and are waiting to be vacated by residents. Most of these buildings are in Byculla, Girgaum, Sewri, Parel, Mumbai Central, Nagpada, Bhendi Bazaar, Mohammed Ali Road and Crawford Market. According to authorities the practical problem is many residents do not vacate even after receiving notices. However, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) has taken the initiative to repair around 1,000 such while over 3,000 have been repaired by their owners in a decade.NYOOOZ TV Videos - Dedicated to bringing you the latest and best in politics, sports, current affairs and entertainment world.
