BMW plunges off 7th floor of Austin parking garage Dramatic CCTV footage has been released of a woman's car plunging seven stories off the side of a parking garage. The clip, released by Austin Police Department on Thursday, shows a Chevrolet Tahoe 4X4 about to turn around when the BMW falls onto the ground front wheels first just yards from the other car. The car rebounds onto William Burch's Tahoe and then turns over on its top. Burch can be seen driving away from the horrific scene as bystanders and workers from a nearby construction site rush to see to the woman, trapped in the sedan. Police said the woman driving the BMW, who had serious injuries from the crash, mistook the gas pedal for the brakes and crashed through the parking garage barriers. The terrifying incident took place on July 13 at around 8:30 a.m. The car fell from the Littlefield parking garage in downtown Austin and hit the building across the alley as it fell, rupturing a gas line. GTT Parking, the garage's owner, said a similar incident happened in September 2016 in the same location, but on a different floor in which no one was hurt.
