DescriptionBernard Jenkin was forced to interrupt his parliamentary speech during a debate on Brexit as Labour MPs laughed at his case for a WTO exit from the opposition benches.Making his case for a Word Trade Organisation Brexit, the prominent Brexiteer read out quotes from the President of the Port of Calais reassuring the Government a no deal scenario would not cause long queues as propagated by Project Fear supporters. But the Tory MP was interrupted by laughter on the opposition benches and was forced to respond to the provocation. He said: “They laugh because they just don’t want to hear the truth.”Labour MP Neil Coyle could be heard shouting back: “Reality is calling.“What colour is the sky on your planet?”The Tory Brexiteer ignored the comment and continued with his speech. He said: “There will be no queues at Dover or Calais. The President of the Port of Calais could not have been more emphatic.“This is what he said: ‘We have been preparing for no deal for a year. We will be ready. We will not check tracks more than we are doing today.“‘We will not stop and ask more than we are doing today’.“And he added that the new special area for SPS checks is somewhere else and it will not influence the traffic in Dover.”MPs will be debating Theresa May's Brexit proposal until Tuesday when the deal will be put to a final vote in the Commons.
