New Chief Justice of Supreme Court Kim Myeong-soo spoke of his strong commitment to find out the truth about the controversial allegation of blackballed judges.[Soundbite] Kim Myeong-soo(Supreme Court Chief Justice) : "It's an urgent matter. It's the very first issue to be dealt with during my term that begins today."The allegation was raised by working-level judges, who claimed that the Court Administration Office had classified judges by their political leanings to keep watch over them. Previously, the Supreme Court's internal fact-finding investigation concluded that the allegation had been groundless. Chief Justice Kim, who is authorized to nominate six out of 11 Supreme Court justices during his term, said that he will exercise his nomination rights actively.[Soundbite] Kim Myeong-soo(Supreme Court Chief Justice) : "The authority is given to the Supreme Court's Chief Justice according to the principle of separation of powers. I just meant I won't exercise that power arbitrarily, but when I'm in conflict with the president, I will see my opinion through."President Moon Jae-in showed his high expectations for the Chief Justice at the appointment ceremony held at Cheong Wa Dae.[Soundbite] Pres. Moon Jae-in : "I have high expectations for him since he was earnest in his answers and very composed."After today's official inauguration ceremony, Chief Justice Kim aimed to finalize his judiciary reform plan.
