DescriptionA local church project prepared over 10,000 meals for families in need across the world today. Dozens of members at the University United Methodist Church in East Lansing spent the day preparing and packaging the meals. The church partnered with a national organization called Rise Against Hunger. We talked with one church member who explained the process of preparing the meals. "We have an assembly line situation where at the tables, people are putting dry ingredients in bags," said Bob Ulrich. "The second section is we're weighing them to make sure that they are a weight limit and then we either take a little bit of rice out or put a little bit of rice in to make sure they are at the right level, seal them and then package them in these large cardboard boxes." This is the second year for the event. Members tell us they're already looking forward to one next year.
