Celebs use their fame to promote all sorts of things: makeup, food, clothing, charities, medicine and health, and that’s exactly what Demi Lovato is using her fame for. Lovato is speaking out on mental health, which she has become a huge advocate for after her own mental health put her life and career at risk! Even more, she’s used her platform to speak about political and social issues.Lovato, who suffers from bipolar disorder, is coming clean and talking real about the stigma surrounding mental health! In an interview the ‘Confident’ singer said, “It’s so important to be vocal about the things you’re dealing with — you never know the life you could live if you’re sharing your experiences with others.”Pretty much, if you’re suffering from something no matter how big or small, you should talk about it, because you never know what doors may open once you do! Demi got candid about the stigma surrounding mental health saying she’s sick of people misusing the term bipolar, thinking people suffering from mental health issues are violent and the overall images of people suffering from mental health.Demi also revealed why she finally spoke out about her illness, “I live a public life. When I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I knew it was something that may or may not get out. But when I was faced with the decision about whether to discuss it, I thought I might as well use my voice for something greater than singing.”What do you guys think of Demi using her platform to talk about mental health?
