Developing: Iran Caving to TrumpPresident Donald Trump threatened to de-certify the Obama administration’s Iran nuclear deal and now Iranian officials are desperate to get in touch with the White House.A source told Reuters that following Trump’s threat, Iran responded and expressed a new willingness to open talks about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear missile programs.“During their meeting on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly last month, Iran told members of the (world powers) that it could discuss the missile programme to remove concerns,” the source told Reuters.A former U.S. Defense Department told the news organization that Iran has reached out to the Trump administration, eager to speak with the U.S. in order to reach a solution.“Iran has put feelers out saying it is willing to discuss its ballistic missile programme and is using contacts … officials who were ‘holdovers’ from the Obama administration,” he said. This is great news for the United States. You’ll remember, the nuclear deal was made in 2015 and involves Iran, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Russia plus Germany. The deal was supposed to limit Iran’s ability to enrich uranium fuel which would make it harder for the country to manufacture nuclear weapons. In theory, the deal might sound like a good solution. However, as Michael Oren wrote in a piece for the The New York Times, the Obama administration inserted a clause that would remove restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program in 2025.“That ‘sunset clause’ is overlooked by the agreement’s proponents, who stress that Iran has so far complied with the deal. But why wouldn’t Iran comply right now?” Oren asked.“In a mere eight years it can reactivate its nuclear plants and rapidly enrich enough uranium for dozens of nuclear bombs,” he continued.Of course, the mullahs want to talk with Trump! They are terrified that if he de-certifies the nuclear deal, they will never be allowed to get their hands on nuclear weapons. While many blame Trump for being too “hard” in his dealings with other nations, this is proof that sometimes getting tough produces the best results.Share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know if you think Iran will talk with President Trump about their missile programs. What do you think will happen with the Iran nuclear deal?
