Last month... the defense and environment ministries conducted a joint survey of electromagnetic radiation and noise levels of the two rocket launchers and their powerful X-band radars.The results have shown the radiation and noise levels were on par with regulatory standards and will have no impact on the residents of Seongju, who are more than two-kilometers away from the THAAD base.However, the ministries gave conditional consent as they need to persuade skeptical residents over the results.
