Batista had the physique, presence, charisma & ring acumen of a main eventer. He's was a premier talent, the definition of an A+ player & a true superstar. Daniel Bryan had the physique, presence, charisma & ring acumen of a role player. He's was a good hand, the definition of B+ player & a true 195lb wannabe. If Bryan hit the weights, put lifts in his boots, wore skinny jeans & got a belly button tattoo...then MAYBE he could one day be an A+ player like Batista.Batista's return after nearly 4 years on Jan 20, 2014 Raw was responsible for drawing 5.249 million viewers in the first hour. It was the first time since Mar 4, 2013 that any hour of Raw topped five million viewers & the most viewers for any hour of Raw since the post-Royal Rumble episode of Raw the year prior. Like Dave Meltzer said "The big thing hyped, for weeks, was the return of Batista. If anyone tries to attribute the rating to anything but that, they are fooling themselves."Besides being tall, muscular & handsome, I believe another reason why the majority of Batista's haters in the Internet Wrestling Community resented him, was because they were jealous he could get pussy - they couldn’t relate to him because they've never had any! they were also envious of Batista's conquests like Melina, Rebecca DiPietro, Kelly Kelly, Rosa Mendes etc. I mean lets be serious here, if Batista wanted Brie Bella he would take her, don't believe me? just ask John Morrison. You see deep down Batista is everything his haters are not but wish they could be hence why they relate more to a guy like Bryan - the first person since Gandhi to make being pathetic successful - as he makes them feel less inadequate. Just because Bryan was popular doesn't mean making him the World Heavyweight Champion is what was best for business. Chants are only one variable which determines if you are over. Others include; tickets sales for live events headlined, TV ratings, merchandise sales & mainstream media attention. WWE gave Bryan the opportunity to headline PPV's in 2013 & he failed to deliver i.e. Vince McMahon had to inform shareholders that increased television rights fees offset the "disappointing" SummerSlam numbers. Regarding SummerSlam, Vince said fans "didn't buy the attraction, as most of you know these events are attraction driven." Despite Bryan's lame "Yes movement" not bringing in any new viewers, WWE foolishly catered to the IWC & put the strap on him on in the main event of the biggest show of the year - a move that came back to haunt them.I was a huge proponent & defender of Batista during his 2014 return. In my opinion he was the best thing on WWE programming prior to him leaving especially once he turned heel due to the fact he was one of the few performers I could watch & not be embarrassed to admit I still watched pro wrestling. His Royal Rumble win was truly unforgettable, he drew huge ratings, Bootista, skinny jeans, awesome heel turn, fantastic performance in the WrestleMania XXX main event, Evolution reunion, great feud with The Shield - NEVER a dull moment. It got to the point where I enjoyed watching “The Animal” so much that I actually went out of my way to watch his segments on SmackDown & I never watch that nothing happening show.Unfortunately my sentiments were not shared as the treatment of Batista in 2014 by the majority of the stereotypical smarks that plague the IWC proves. It's the ultimate example that the vocal minority of WWE's current dwindling core audience don't have a clue about what is best for business. Batista was relentlessly & unfairly criticised by these malicious stereotypical smarks therefore they contributed to running off a larger than life, real man, who looks like a Greek God in favour of Bryan...a bland, meek, passive, goat faced, injury prone, Total Divas starring, tree planting, dwarf who resembles a garden gnome & repelled casual/lapsed fans from watching. In hindsight it's a true indictment of this genres hardcore fan base that a guy with mainstream crossover appeal like Batista - star of Guardians of the Galaxy (the second highest worldwide grossing movie of 2014) & future Bond villain - was treated with such disdain. WWE's loss is Hollywood's gain.
