Description
The Eiffel Tower in Paris had its lights turned off on Wednesday evening, to pay tribute to the victims of a bomb attack in Kabul that claimed the lives of at least 90 people and left hundreds of others wounded. In a Twitter post, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said that it was the city's act of "solidarity" with the victims. The same symbolic gesture had also been taken on Tuesday, as the monument's lights went out to memorialise those who died in a series of suicide attacks in Baghdad, which killed 42 people.
