German Interior Minister De Maiziere led the opening of the joint Centre for the Support of Return (Zentrum zur Unterstützung der Rueckkehr ZUR) in Berlin on Monday. "Difficult cases like criminals or persons that are likely to threaten the country are to be prioritised in order to ensure they leave our country quickly," said de Maiziere. SOT, Thomas de Maiziere, Interior Minister of Germany (German): "This centre is supposed to unite the efforts of the federal government and the states. It is supposed to coordinate on which states we should focus, collective returns are to be coordinated here and there should be an exchange on the measures concerning voluntary returns. Difficult cases like criminals or persons that are likely to threaten the country are to be prioritised in order to ensure they leave our country quickly. We stand behind prioritising a voluntary repatriation; the federal government has again restocked funding for that in 2017. However, if the voluntary repatriation is not enough, deportations should be the means to enforce the obligation to leave the country. We want to get out of mutual accusations of the federal government towards the states and vice versa, and the Joint Centre for the Support of Return is a visible sign for that."Video ID: 20170313 047Video on Demand: http://www.ruptly.tvContact: [email protected]: http://twitter.com/RuptlyFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly
