Why should we study history and what is history truly about? Historical thinking is a form of analytical thinking that not only challenges the individual to consider the limits of what they know, but also to raise questions about the material they are studying. This talk investigates the necessity of studying history by using a particular an example from history and talking about the larger life lessons we might walk away with when we consider history not simply as past events, famous people, or a series of dates and vocabulary.Teaching AP World History for more than five years, Mr. Walker is notoriously known as one of the most difficult but also most fascinating high school teachers. With a quiet yet strong demeanor, Mr. Walker’s passion and love for social studies is always spread among his students - making him an invaluable educator with unique perspectives.
