Iraqi armed forces are pressing ahead with operations to drive the terrorists out of the Daesh-held city of Mosul.Iraqi fighter jets have conducted airstrikes in the western half of Mosul, killing a number of militants and destroying car bombs. Plumes of smoke rose in the flashpoint city following the air raids and rocket attacks. Ground forces have also moved deeper into the Old City of Mosul where militants are holding out near the al-Nuri Mosque. According to the Iraqi federal police, the troops are fighting the militants house to house.
