On Monday, US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis made an unannounced trip to Afghanistan to meet with Afghan leaders and US military officials to take a fresh look at a 15 year-long war where he once served during the conflict's opening months. The top US commander in the country, General John Nicholson previously told Congress the war is at a "stalemate' and suggested that several thousand more troops would be needed to turn the tide. There are currently about 8,400 U.S. personnel serving in Afghanistan. Neither Mattis nor President Trump have given a public indication if they support Nicholson's request for additional troops.http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/def...http://www.wochit.comThis video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
