The council of governors has now disowned the 40 billion shillings it presented to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission as proposed pay hike for nurses. The governors claim they have no money to pay the 40 billion negotiated nurses CBA. In a conciliatory meeting at the ministry of labour the nurses through their union said they will take nothing less than the agreed amount which it said was 7.25 billion shillings per year and not the 40 billion that the COG is claiming. Labour Cabinet Secretary Phillis Kandie however remains hopeful that a solution will be found very soon.
