선거참패로 '날개 꺾인' 아베…日매체 "G20서 적극외교 힘들듯" Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be joining other global leaders at this week's G20 summit in Germany amid difficulties at home. For more on this and other news around the world… we turn to Ro Aram….Aram… Abe's grip on power in Japan is showing signs of slipping, after a number of domestic setbacks…How will this affect his diplomacy efforts during the G20 summit?Well Jihye… his Liberal Democratic Party's recent Tokyo assembly election loss and a spiraling political scandal regarding alleged favoritism certainly deals Abe a bad hand for trying to push through his agendas on the international stage. Japan's Nihon Keizai Shinbun reported on Tuesday that he will try to flip the negative light on him during the G20, but despite his vow to actively seek better ties with other leaders... his wings have been clipped. The paper also said that issues, including Japan's sexual enslavement of women during World War II and territorial disputes with neighboring countries, will add to Abe's difficulty to seek effective diplomacy, especially with meetings with his Chinese and South Korean counterparts. His upcoming talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hamburg will also prove challenging as Beijing and Moscow have been strengthening ties. Japan's dispute with Russia over the Kuril Islands won't help either. Abe may use the North Korea card to rally global leaders to his side and mark an achievement from his attendance at the G20, but with Abe's own defense minister Tomomi Inada being mired in controversy for making politically bias comments during an election campaign. This has led to security talks involving Japanese and U.S. foreign and defense chiefs planned for next Friday being postponed.
