Milk supply is expected to improve in the country following the opening of an ultramodern milk factory in Eldoret.The government has revived the New Kenya Cooperative Creameries factory at a cost of 500 million shillings, and is expected to allow for diversification of products. The head of state says that the government is also keen on reviving other factories in different sectors. These include Rivatex which he says will start operations soon, Kicomi in Kisumu and Mountex in Central Kenya to help cotton farmers. The government also intends to zero rate all milk and milk products and also remove import duties on yellow maize used for making animal feeds.
