They city of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh has been engulfed with violence and agitation due to widespread protest from farmers, demanding debt waiver, higher minimum support prices for their product and other concessions. The protest turned into tragic as five persons were killed on Tuesday when police opened fire, among those dead was a 19 year-old-student of class 11 and another a newly wed. Furthermore, on Friday another farmer succumbed to injuries in Mandsaur taking the death toll to six. The government has announced 1 crore to the family of the deceased.The unrest has now led to protest in Punjab and Haryana. Bharatiya Kisan Union staged a symbolic protest in Punjab while others announced solidarity protest for Monday. The protest is against the firing at the protesters by police in Mandsaur. While the situation are escalating at tremendous rate, political party wasted no time to make it about themselves and pointing fingers at one-another, similarly BJP spokeperson Pal Singh posted a video to show a Congress lawmaker urging her supporters t burn a local police station. The Congress MLA in question is Shakuntala Khatik, who represents the Karera Constituency in the Shivpuri district.
