DescriptionA very laughable situation is now unrolling about Putin’s attempts to run away from the international punishment for his war crimes. Slowly but surely the justice is coming: in September 2016, the Joint Investigation Team proved that MH17 flight was downed by the BUK missile system delivered from Russia (http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/28/europe/...), in November 2015 United Nations passed resolution in which Russia is officially recognized as occupying power (http://euromaidanpress.com/2016/11/16...), a day earlier the International Criminal Court in the Hague admitted that Russian occupation of Crime is an international military conflict (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU_50...). Putin is in panic, so what does he do – he simply withdraws Russia from the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Putin thinks he can avoid punishment for his war crimes just by not recognizing the International Criminal Court. This is on the same level of stupidity as saying that Nazi leaders could have avoided prosecution for their war crimes just by not recognizing the Nuremberg tribunal. Simply because not recognizing something doesn’t mean that others don’t recognize it as well. In other words, he can be arrested in countries which admit jurisdiction of the International Criminal court. For instance, Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo from Congo was arrested by the Belgian authorities when travelling abroad, and sentenced to 18 years.
