Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa paid his respects to ANC stalwart Ahmed Kathrada at his family home in Killarney. Kathrada's passing was announced in the early hours of today following updates of his deteriorating health condition over the weekend."Another giant of our democracy, of our freedom has departed and we all feel so hugely deprived of this man who sacrificed so much," said Ramaphosa. The deputy president described Kathrada as a humble man, with great integrity who was "honest to his core". "We will try and emulate his example," Ramaphosa said.He implored the youth of South Africa to remember "Uncle Kathy" and asked them to try and walk in his footsteps.
