The dance vividly depicts how people increasingly become like machines. A drone flies over the stage and interacts with the lead actress playing a young girl. The drone plays the role of a helpful friend. This performance titled "Robot Tree" is a story of humans and life existing in a mechanized civilization.[Soundbite] Lee Seung-ah(Spectator) : "It's different. I think robots used in these shows will interest children as well."It was a novel challenge for the actors to share the stage with machines.[Soundbite] Kim Tae-seong(Actor) : "I need to move this as if I'm moving my own body. The actors trained for 4-5 hours wearing the devices."The cast wore wearable robots weighing as much as 30 kilograms to play their parts and also learned to operate drones. The robotic machines were more than just stage props. They took on roles for themselves, and engaged in interaction with the audience.[Soundbite] Lee Dong-il(Producer) : "We could create a venue for humanized technology where we communicate, interact and collaborate with robots."Watching robots perform on stage, viewers are prompted to ponder the idea of a society in which humankind and machines coexist.
