SPECTACULAR: Hurricane Matthew takes out power stations and power lines ONE BY ONE!! More than 63,000 in South Florida without power after Hurricane Matthew power outages. Early Friday, more than 63,000 Florida Power & Light customers in South Florida remained without power, even as Hurricane Matthew passed the region heading north.According to FPL's 8 a.m. report, the area outages were:Palm Beach County: 47,140 customers out; 732,300 total customers in the county.Broward County: 8,980 customers out; 926,200 total customers in the county.Miami-Dade County: 7,600 customers out; 1,099,100 total customers in the county.The total out in South Florida has improved since the 5 p.m. report, when there was nearly 70,000 out of power, and the 4 a.m. report, when 86,000 were without electricity.By 8 a.m. Friday, 177,200 FPL homeowners and businesses had their power restored, out of the 653,490 affected by the storm.On Thursday, nearly 114,000 in South Florida lost power at some point, with some customers being restored at least temporarily.In total, 150,630 FPL customers in Florida were affected by the hurricane on Thursday. FPL has 4.8 million customers in Florida.Even though Hurricane Matthew was moving north Thursday evening, an increasing number lost power in Palm Beach and Broward counties. Miami-Dade's power outages started declining.
