Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis testified on Capitol Hill on Thursday about existential threats facing the US in an effort to secure more than a $600 billion for defense. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Obama administration only sought $540 billion in its final defense budget. Mattis is asking for an additional $91.3 billion from the federal government.
