This is the third of SpaceX's eight planned launches for the constellation Iridium Next, which brings the total number of satellites now in orbit to 30.Today was the first flight of this special Falcon 9 of first stage of reinforcement. SpaceX has successfully launched previously used Falcon 9 thrusters and plans to use a pre-flown propeller to launch another communications satellite into orbit on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from NASA's Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida . Today's mission also marked the 14th launch of SpaceX this year and the 17th successful landing of a first stage of Falcon 9. SpaceX has been reusing the early stages of Falcon 9 and is looking for fully reusable rockets in an effort to reduce the cost of the flight space.
