The Syrian Army continues operations in eastern Homs province, close to the ancient city of Palmyra. The government forces have managed to push back the terrorists from nearby Talialh Mountains, 20 kilometers to the southwest of the recently-liberated city. They also took control of a mountainous region in the north of Palmyra. Syrian forces have also been engaged in heavy clashes with foreign-backed militants on the eastern fringes of the capital, Damascus, in the past few days. According to Syrian media, the fighting erupted after the militants attacked army positions.
