Description
Tanzanian government is determined to construct a mineral concentrate smelter to discourage export of raw minerals. Prim minister Kassim Majaliwa has told parliament there are now immediate plans to lift the ban on the export of mineral concentrates and ores. Last March the government banned exports for metallic minerals like gold, copper, nickel and silver resulting to hefty losses among mining firms. Tanzania argues the ban was introduced with a view to promote value addition in the country. President John Magufuli halted the exports of Acacia Mining owned concentrates at the Dar es Salaam port citing irregularities in the process. The Premier has said investors need not worry as the government was committed to protect their rights as it deals with the dispute with Acacia Mining over its mineral concentrates.Subscribe to us on YouTube: http://ow.ly/Zvqj30aIsgYFollow us on:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cgtnafrica/Twitter: https://twitter.com/cgtnafrica
