It’s take baby elephants 12 to 13 year before they are considered adult elephants. Elephant scientist Cynthia Moss, stated, “It takes a long time for a calf to grow up. They’re not mature until they’re 12 or 13 years old. They still need their mother even at that point. And even in our studies we found that when a female dies any calf below two will also die, will not survive, but even the four to six year old sometimes dies without the mother.” In order to prevent orphaned elephants from dying they created the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The organization helps baby elephants create a new family, so that they can survive.http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/22/africa/...http://www.wochit.comThis video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
