A recent study published on UPI.com scientist from the Mayo Clinic reveal that patients who suffering with end stage kidney cancer, could greatly benefit from having a surgical procedure to remove secondary tumor growths. The study found that the particular procedure could "more than double their life expectancy. " In a press release Mayo Clinic Urologist Dr. Bradley Leibovich, explained: "With a lot of cancers, we know there's a range of survival, but kidney cancer is notable for very significant variability in survival after finding spread of disease, with some patients dying much sooner and some living much longer than expected." In 1992 the FDA approved the first drug to treat kidney cancer however since that time there have been major advancements in drug therapies.
