Trey Gowdy has suggested that there is more than one way to get former National Security Advisor Susan Rice to explain to Congress what she knew about the unmasking of Trump transition officials, and it’s a suggestion she won’t like.During an interview with Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” Thursday morning, Gowdy said that Congress might soon subpoena Rice to appear in a closed-door setting. On Wednesday, Rice declined a request to testify before a Senate subcommittee next week, citing “separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches and the fact that the invitation was not bipartisan,” according to Politico. Many Republican members of Congress are interested in what Rice has to say about her unmasking of names from surveillance records, and are chiefly interested in her requests to reveal Trump transition officials whose names were exposed during incidental surveillance.“There are other ways to invite people other than via a letter,” Gowdy asserted. “There are things called subpoenas. You shouldn’t have to use them with a former national security advisor, but if you do, you do.”Gowdy said that Rice was a “very important witness.”“Members of Congress don’t pick the witnesses, lawyers don’t pick witnesses. Facts pick the witnesses,” he added. It looks like Rice might have some serious explaining to do, whether she likes it or not.President Donald Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Rice’s choice and posted his sentiments to social media.Have a look:Last month Rice denied that President Barack Obama’s administration utilized intelligence for political purposes, claiming the suggestion was “absolutely false.”The fact that Rice refused to testify is telling. If she has nothing to hide, she should be eager to explain her side of the story.H/T The Gateway PunditShare this story on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about the Senate going after Susan Rice. What do you think about Gowdy's threat to subpoena Rice?
