UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says the world body needs to get rid of its longstanding bureaucracy if its wants to be more effective and efficient.Guterres was addressing a meeting held to discuss reforms in the structure of the United Nations. He added that any possible reforms in the world body must serve people, especially those who are suffering. Guterres also said the U-N has already adopted a strategy to fight sexual exploitation, protect whistleblowers and strengthen counter-terrorism structures. Prior to Guterres’s speech, U-S President Donald Trump called for reforms in the UN. He said the organization has failed to make use of its great potential.
