Description
On Tuesday, Scottish lawmakers voted 69-59 in favor of a new independence referendum, in which the matter of Scottish independence from the United Kingdom will be discussed and settled. The call for a referendum sets Edinburgh on a collision course with the UK government, and gives First Minister Nicola Sturgeon the go-ahead to ask the British Parliament for a referendum between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019. British Prime Minister Theresa May has indicated she will reject Sturgeon's timetable. In a failed 2014 referendum on independence, Scotland voted 55% to remain in the UK - but according to Sturgeon the landscape has changed since Brexit, which she says is forcing Scotland out of the European Union against its will - given that 62% of Scots voted in June to remain in the Union.http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/28/europe/...http://www.wochit.comThis video was produced by YT Wochit Vote It using http://wochit.com
